The remote Highland community of Scoraig can only be reached by boat so the 70 inhabitants are dependent on their Ferry.
The 18 ft. aluminum catamaran is based on the wooden design from Topher Dawson.
Since there is no harbor the ferry is pulled ashore with a Landover. It slides over the pebble stone beach on replaceable PE strips placed under the hulls.
The Ferry is approved MGN category C for eight people and is built by Sam Barlow from Moorework.
My work for the Scrimshaw
A 3d scan is made of the existing wooden ferry. A bigger aluminium version is completely constructed in 3d CAD. The displacement and position in the water is analyzed in the computer. All the lasercut-files are generated from the model.
